Large Packaging Machine Manufacturer Mandated by Corporate to Make Changes
Hired by senior engineers to re-design “large custom machine” manuals to meet safety standards to reduce liability exposure, and identify ROI losses occurring between sales-to- engineering configuration.
Re-designed template manuals to actual machine design with software automation, called out specified safety standards for proper handling, created a menu-like platform to serve as the baseline for machine builds. Included a special area for custom configuration requests.
Enabled customer flexibility regarding on-demand preferences, closed the ROI gap from errors between sales and engineering by 36%.
Transformation included: business analysis between orgs with review of constraints and liabilities to re-write optimal processes. Created value stream software to translate bounded context for baseline builds; goal was to remove margin of error for both electrical (software) and mechanical (machine build.)
Designed and developed object oriented manual with data insertion points for customization features – for 3 machine lines.
Developed this platform with Senior Engineers – to provide Sales with real time safety data while taking configuration preference orders from the customer
Integrated CAD reporting post-build
Combination of the above provided automated manual creation based on final sales contract and engineer build report.
